KRITTER KINGDOM

we aren't really rolling till March 31st, but anyone who wishes is welcome to join and get set up on the site myself and a friend are running, with some assistance from the good people here, support from friends, and Brandon's fantastic script!

KK is still very, very much on the production line, and I am aware of kinks and twists and glitches, heheh.

But we have some Kritters ready to be adopted, and you can breed them, and get set up there! We will be having some special perks for the first 500 that sign up, and yes, we are hoping to get big! <3

We have a little backstory that is going to be elaborated on, and our Kritters are a hybrid of Pokemon/Digimon types and some of our own art and creations. We give credit where its due for anything not ours, of course

Well, you know everyone is wanting a currency mod ( Including me )? Well, I've figured out how to make one, so I decided to show everyone how to have one. Do note, all this will do, is give you a currency and allow you to increase it by clicking/leveling adoptables. You will have to make all the extensions for it yourself. But I guess I will be willing to help you make one if you ask ( nicely xD ).

Step 1: Make the currency table.
Open up your MySql then find "Query" ( I have no idea how you access your MySql DB or what it looks like, so you'll need to find stuff yourself ) It should allow you to run a MySql Query, the query I want you to run is this:

ALTER TABLE users
ADD money INT(11) NULL DEFAULT '0'

Change 'users' to whatever you "prefix" is plus 'users'. Mine is adopt_users. Just an example. Then change 'money' to whatever currency you want, then run it.

Step 2: Make it so you get money for clicking on adopts.
There is a file called 'levelup.php'. Open that up then go to line 98, it should be a "}". Then after that, copy and paste then edit to your desires ( You can add some enters to keep everything clean ):

PHP Code:

$query = "SELECT * FROM ".$prefix."users WHERE username = '".$loggedinname."'";

$result = mysql_query($query);

$num = mysql_numrows($result);

//Loop out code

$i=0;

while ($i < 1) {

$money=@mysql_result($result,$i,"money");

$i++;

}

Now change the money variable to whatever you want, but change the second 'money' to the same as the one in the in Step 1 where you named the currency. Okay, now go to line 162 it should say:

PHP Code:

    $newclicks = $totalclicks + 1; // Add 1 click to the current click total of this adoptable...

Now after that add:

PHP Code:

    $newmoney = $money + 10;

Then go to line 168 and it should say:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query($query);

Then after that add:

PHP Code:

    $query = "UPDATE ".$prefix."users SET money='".$newmoney."' WHERE username = '".$loggedinname."'";

    mysql_query($query);

Then that should be it for 'levelup.php'

Step 3: Fixing other files...
There may be some files that need fixing, like the 'register.php' file. We will need to fix it so other people can register. Go to line 182, it should say:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query("INSERT INTO ".$prefix."users VALUES ('', '$username', '$pass1','$email','3','1', '$date', '0','','','','','')");

and replace it with:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query("INSERT INTO ".$prefix."users VALUES ('', '$username', '$pass1','$email','3','1', '$date', '0','','','','','','0')");

There may be some other files that need fixing, but I have no idea, or I don't remember. So if you notice any problems, please tell me and I'll figure it out. O.O

A simple 3 Step tutorial thingy on how to make a currency mod.

Please note, it is not my fault if you mess up your website. I messed mine up and had to remake it. So make sure you have some sort of Backup or something. Or, just try it on another website.

Now after that add:

PHP Code:

Then go to line 168 and it should say:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query($query);

PHP Code:

Then that should be it for 'levelup.php'

Step 3: Fixing other files...
There may be some files that need fixing, like the 'register.php' file. We will need to fix it so other people can register. Go to line 182, it should say:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query("INSERT INTO ".$prefix."users VALUES ('', '$username', '$pass1','$email','3','1', '$date', '0','','','','','')");

and replace it with:

PHP Code:

    mysql_query("INSERT INTO ".$prefix."users VALUES ('', '$username', '$pass1','$email','3','1', '$date', '0','','','','','','0')");

There may be some other files that need fixing, but I have no idea, or I don't remember. So if you notice any problems, please tell me and I'll figure it out. O.O

I know, I know, this is a free (as in open source) project, and real life takes priority, but there are a couple of rather large features that are needed in the new version.

Firstly, let's do away with the "sql password" verification. It's ugly as sin, and it really serves minimal purpose. I understand the thing kind of has a purpose as in sql verification, but ewwww, that's ugly!

Secondly, please, please, puhlease do away with the http://www.subdomain stuff. It's unnecessary, and it just makes forums look tacky. All that's needed is sub.domain.com

Thirdly, please, please, please put in some sort of spam verification! I can't count the number of spam signups I've gotten through my own forums. Yes, it's a custom form (only because the current design is ugly and doesn't actually fit the site well at all), but there should be some sort of spam verification here.

Fourthly, and probably most importantly, multiple databases. The overhead on the current structure is amazingly slow, and the database size is around 800m (binary), which means it's just not going to backup at all! This is a show stopper here. With over 300 forums, things just come to a halt when trying to access that database, believe me. If nothing else, this really, really needs to be overhauled!

I appreciate the time you've put into this, and believe me, I've renewed my 'premium membership' a few times now (and will continue to do so happily). It aint much, but it's what I got!

Hey, I was wondering about a specific file within the /create directory "ac.php", currently that file contains very sensitive admin related information.

I noticed that the "ac.php" file has CHMOD set for 755 or 777 ?

Within the file is something that might look like this:

Code:

<?php
//Multiforum Administrator Config File

$username = 'xxxx';              //Admin Username
$admpassword = 'xxxx';            //Admin Password
?>

Is this something that I should be concerned about? Can anyone view this file, that doesn't have FTP access to my server?

Also, what is the importance of this file. Is it possibly that someone could hack or view into this file? I mean, if they could, then they would pretty much have everything they need to gain admin access to the main mybb board.

Lastly, I noticed that there is no index.html in the /create folder, but there is an index.php? Will people be able to bypass the index.php to view the contents of the /create directory?

Are there any other areas within the directory that I should also update or check for security related issues such as these?

Thanks so much for any help.
